There are various oregano seeds. More specifically, oregano is one of the 9 species of Origanum, a genus of the mint family (Lamiaceae). The variety used by Oregano is Origanum Heracleoticum L. This specific quality has the highest yields in essential oils, carvacrol and green color.
For a field of 1,000 square meters we need 30 gr of seed. The sowing is carried out twice a year and more specifically, once in autumn (October –November) and once in winter (February – March). For Greece’s conditions, autumn is usually recommended.
At this point, it is worth mentioning that Oregano has sufficient quantity of seeds available in reasonable prices.
